DevLog #6 - Production sprint 2

Another week, another devlog!

DevLog #6 - Production sprint 2

//---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------//

This week we all were little bit more ocuppied by our school assignments, however we still managed to do some progress on our game.

The enemy snowman has been brought to life, we now have basic animations for walking and attack.

As of enemies, we are creating another one. The new enemies are getting stronger, smarter and will surprise you with more interesting abilities! So if you thought the snowman are dangerous, wait until the acorns start flying your way. It's little bit corny, we know...

To be able to go over a creek/frozen river that will go through our world, a bridge asset has been made. For texturing we used the smart materials we made in the early stages of production.

We also made an electricity pole, it still needs to get some cables in Unity but the poles are pretty much finished.

Then we jumped onto some other vegetation! Some bushes and a deciduous tree. This is a WIP and there will be some changes to make it look a little bit better but the base is there!

Most of the animations are working correctly now. Both player and enemy have their animations right now. The only thing left for the player animations is that the snowball throw timing is off and adding the animation for holding and running with snowball. UI for the enemy and for the snowball has been added. For the enemy it shows their health and for the snowball it shows the current size.

//---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------//

And one more thing that is important in our game is the snow mechanics... We are finally implementing our snow deformation into our project. We had some small problems but now it should be fixed and ready for implementation, finally!

And with that, we are changing our snow pilling effect on our assets, the results we had before weren't in our liking, so we tried different approach with normal mesh on top of the assets made with sweet free plugin in 3ds max called tyflow. With that it's really easy to get some snow on top of our assets in a matter of 5 minutes. In our opinion it looks much better now!

And that's it for this week, hope we can see you next time, take care,

bye!
