DevLog #10 - The big Finale!
The final devlog is here. It's been an exhausting but exiting jurney we've all went through. This is our final devlog and most likely our last words on this project, so let's make it worth.
First let's get over what we did this last week of Polishing of our game
We finished our level decoration:
Along with that we added a small swinging animation to our lanterns:
Next we weren't really happy with the sharp transition of our snow with ground and our assets, so we added Depth Fade effect to our snow shader that helps to make the transition smoother.
We also fixed some of the problems, where some of our assets (Axe with stump and well) didn't have materials correctly assigned. When it comes to fixing we also added some more collision boxes so the player doesn't go through the objects.
Then we created another particle effect to make the effect that snowballs explode when they hit something, and not just disappear into thin air
Added second snowman with skull instead of hat , he is bigger, slower and has more health.
Enemies now spawn off screen
Camera shake was added and finetuned
Health increase feature was added, so certain enemies have certain amount of health.
And finally we added saving the highscore system, with some more UI that reprenets the snowstorm and highscore.
Another changes we made:
- We linked Snowball with the snowground ( can spawn snowbal only on ground covered with snow)
- Fixing errors and warnings
- Enemy ranged improvements
- Snowstorm post processing effects changes
- Changed snowstorm timings to create a better playing experience
