DevLog #7 - Final Week of production 2

Slowly but surely, our journey is coming to the end, however we still got few weeks before that, so let's look where we are at right now.

We are filling our world with more assets, we redirected our theme a little bit just so we have more freedom when it comes to our assets, from park themed game, we moved more into small village square. With this change we added new assets like these wood piles with axe and stamp:



Next we made little Water Well:

Last week we showed our new enemy. Along with a new character comes new animations. This one had to be manually rigged. For the animations we used a combination of tweaked mixamo animations and good old key frame animations.


The enemy above has been added to the game. It will spawn next to the scary snowmen and run at you, throwing acorns. Not all the visuals are implemented into the prefab but it's one step closer.

When it comes to our main level we finally finished our layout of the level, to be exact we have placed most of our assets there and now it's ready to be played in. That includes collision meshses, prefabs of asssets etc...



We also did colour grading and applied them on neutral LUT’s, however it will be implemented in the game itself soon.

It was a busy week on the audio part, we finished all the sounds that we wanted in our game and they are all implemented in Unity (although it will need some polishing next week). These new sounds include, enemy footsteps, snowball rolling, snowball throwing and impact, enemy attack, player and enemy death, snow ball pickup…

The GameOver screen and it's functionality has been added.



The pause menu is somewhat finished (The functionality is there, we just need to move few elements etc..).



There is now a enemy spawn logic. The level keeps spawning enemies until a certain number enemies are in the level. After killing a certain amount of enemies , that spawn count will increase.

Ice has been added. When you step on the ice, you can't choose the direction and keep sliding until you are on ground again.



The UI has been polished and added : The health UI for the player is added. The enemy health UI has been updated with new png's and The snowball size UI has been cleaned and is working correctly.
